According to Punch Sports Extra reports, Manchester United (MAN. U.) has emerged as front-runners to sign Nigerian international footballer, Victor Osimhen, during the summer transfer window.
The Red Devils have struggled with scoring goals this season and are looking to strengthen their attacking options. Osimhen, who is currently on loan at Galatasaray, has been impressive this season, scoring 20 goals and providing five assists in 25 appearances.
According to reports, MAN. U. is prepared to trigger his €75million release clause to bring him to Old Trafford. Transfer news expert Ben Jacobs also says that MAN. U could miss out on other striker targets, Liam Delap and Benjamin Sesko, as Chelsea and Arsenal are also interested in signing them.
Jacobs stated that Chelsea is the frontrunner for Delap’s signature, while Arsenal is optimistic about signing Sesko. He also mentioned that MAN. U. has looked at both players but might miss out on them. Osimhen’s move to Old Trafford is reportedly “95% likely” as he prepares to leave Napoli permanently this summer.
Furthermore, Paris Saint-Germain and Saudi Arabian clubs are also interested in signing Osimhen, while Chelsea might re-enter the race before the summer transfer window closes. Osimhen has remained coy about his future, saying that he lives for the moment and will see what happens in the summer.
Manchester United is expected to have a busy summer, with the club looking to sign as many as four new players, including a centre-forward, defensive midfielder, centre-back, and wing-back.
